Application

Every year, our core program runs on a trimester schedule - January, May and September. Applications for each semester are accepted on a rolling basis.

Applicants and their families are encouraged to come in for a tour of the College Re-Entry Center and to meet with a member of the staff before submitting an application. This allows the student to see the space, learn more about the program, and determine if it is a good fit for them.

After submitting the application package (application, current psychosocial history, and current psychiatric assessment), the student will be invited back for a one-on-one meeting with staff to discuss his or her interests and goals. The intake committee reviews the application materials and may speak with an applicant’s mental health providers prior to making a decision.

Accepted candidates will be given a start date based on the orientation schedule. Candidates who are not accepted will be referred to a program that better meets their current needs.

Eligible individuals must be:

  • Between the ages of 18-30
  • Currently receiving clinical treatment for a schizophrenia spectrum disorder (e.g. schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis NOS) or major mood disorder (e.g. bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder)
  • Receiving support (post-treatment) for any substance abuse/dependence (if applicable)
  • Motivated to attend school after a mental health-related absence and able to commit to 15 hours per week for Core program which is Tuesday to Thursday from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm.
