Frequently Asked Questions

How will I spend my time at College Re-Entry?

Our center is open to students from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Thursday and Friday by appointment.

Does College Re-Entry provide medication and therapy?

No, it does not. Our program provides a bridge between clinical services and college by helping students create an action plan for their return and develop skills they need to do well both in and outside the classroom.

Can I be a part of your program if I’m still in school?

We have had students successfully take 1-2 classes while enrolled in our Core Program. However, please discuss this plan with us ahead of time to ensure that classes do not conflict with your schedule at CRE.

Can I be a part of your program if I do not live in New York?

Yes! We are now offering our program in a virtual format, which means you can be a CRE student from anywhere in the country.

How large are the classes?

To ensure each student gets individualized attention and a healthy group dynamic, we limit class size to a maximum of 10 students in our in-person program and 16 students in our virtual program.

When can I start?

Students start with our Core program, which is a 14-week semester that we offer 3 times a year: January, May and September.  We accept applications on a rolling basis.

Do I need to return to the school I attended in the past?

Not necessarily. We help students find the appropriate school and major for them. Some of our students return to the school they were enrolled in, others choose to transfer to a different college.

What is the length of the program?

Both our in-person and virtual Core programs are a structured 14-week curriculum. After completing the Core Program, students receive an additional semester of weekly support through our Flex program and then ongoing support as needed as a CRE alumni.

What is the cost of the program?

Tuition is $7,500 for the in-person program or $6,000 for the virtual program. Both programs include ongoing support at no additional charge.

Will scholarships be provided?

Yes, the Danny Zorn Scholarship supports college students with mental health challenges to pursue higher education through their participation in the Fountain House College Re-Entry program.

20% of our students are able to participate in the College Re-Entry program thanks to the Danny Zorn Scholarship Fund. The scholarship covers all College Re-Entry fees ($12,500) and provides $2,000* to help offset educational expenses associated with returning to college. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements outlined in the program application found here: Scholarship Application
