Our Students

I learned to love school more after learning to love myself and engage with others.

64% of students with a mental health diagnosis who dropped out of college did so because of their illness.

Since June 2014, the College Re-Entry Program has worked with students to provide them with a bridge between clinical treatment and resuming their studies.

Our students are between the ages of 18 and 30. Prior to and throughout the program, they are receiving clinical treatment for a major mood disorder (e.g., bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder), anxiety disorder or a schizophrenia spectrum disorder (e.g., schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis NOS).

We look for students who are motivated to return to school after a medical health-related absence and who are currently receiving clinical treatment. Students start with our Core program, which takes place at our center in New York City for 14 weeks on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 am to 5 pm. Our diverse student body illustrates the fact that mental illness can affect anyone.
